Zoom's live transcript feature
allows you to provide students with an
automatic transcript of what you or others are
saying during a class. This is designed to
support students who may have any auditory
difficulties and ensure that they are included
in the learning process.
To turn on Zoom's live transcript
feature in class, complete the following
steps.
- During a Zoom meeting, click Live
Transcript.
- Click Enable Auto-Transcription.
This enables the transcription feature and
the transcript will begin appear in the
main zoom area.
- If you want to adjust how this live
transcript appears to students, click on
the arrow to the right of Live
Transcript in the menu in Zoom and
select Subtitle Settings.
- From here, you can identify how large or
small the subtitles for the transcript
should appear by clicking and dragging the Closed Captioning slider towards
Small or Large.
- You can also choose to display a
full transcript of the class. To do so,
click
on the arrow to the right of the Live
Transcript in the menu in Zoom and
select View Full Transcript. The
transcript displays in the
right-hand side of the Zoom window.
- To download a copy of the transcript,
click Save Transcript at the
bottom of this
area.
Note: The arrow to the
right of Live Transcript only
displays if
auto-transcription is enabled.
Zoom also automatically provides
an
audio transcript of recordings that you
create. This appears for both you and
students
when you access your recording.
