You may wish to adjust the number of communications you receive from Canvas according to what you would like to receive updates about, when and how often you would like to receive them and how you would like them to come to you, etc.


To adjust your Canvas notifications, complete the following steps:


  1. From Canvas main navigation, click Account. 
  2. Select Notifications. 
  3. For each of the module activities, select the icons under Email to identify if Canvas should
  • “Notify immediately” - send you an email immediately when an activity happens
  • “Daily Summary” - send you a summary of all module activities at the end of each day
  • “Weekly Summary” - send you a summary of all module activities at the end of each week
  • “Notifications off” identifies that canvas should not send you a communication about the module activity

If you have downloaded and setup the Canvas Teacher app, a second column will appear as Push notification to identify what notifications you should receive via the Canvas app.
