Scenario:
MTU's remote learning system is designed to support authentication to your live classes (using Zoom) through Canvas, so you should - wherever possible - access canvas to attend a zoom class.
Solution:
Step 1
Login to Canvas at cit.instructure.com using your Staff email and password (for more information on this please see this help article)
Step 2
Select the module which has the zoom
meeting you wish to attend.
Step 3
In the module, select "Zoom" from
the Module Menu on the left-hand
side
Step 4
The live classes for the module in
question will be listed in the Zoom Panel
under the section "Upcoming
Meetings"
To join the meeting, click on
the Start/Join button for the relevant
class.
If you have not done
so already, you may receive a
prompt to download Zoom to
your computer, tablet, or
phone.
Step 5
When zoom opens, you may see a waiting
room - this means that your lecturer will
let you into the room when they are
ready.
Step 6
Select the option to join
through computer audio if this appears
for you.
You can setup your audio by
clicking on the arrow next to the mic
icon and identifying the mic and
speaker you want to use.
You can also test these out
to make sure they are working
okay
You can also click on
the "Chat" button in the menu and use
the chat area on the right-hand side
to send messages

Step 7
When you are ready to leave the
meeting, you can click on the "Leave Meeting" option in
red at the bottom right corner of
the window.
