What is included in the Drill-down reports feature?

When students complete H5P questions their answers will be stored and made available in a drill down report per content. The report may be accessed by anyone who can edit the content through Canvas.

Reports are available for each content that provides scoring. Below is the list of things currently available within the reports

  • For each content item, the list off all users that have answered is generated.
  • For each user, a first attempt score, last attempt score, best attempt score is shown.
  • For each attempt, a start time, end time, duration of the attempt, total score is shown.
  • For each question, we show question score and complete report with all the answers the user has given.
  • The score for each question is generated based on the answers a user has given. An exception to this is Free-Text question found in Interactive Video. This is an open-ended type of a question where the author has to review and grade the user's answers within the report.

The Report above is generated by the Column H5P content type with multiple questions. Three are shown here but there are a lot more content types that provide reports.

When are the learner accounts needed?

  • When you use H5P through Canvas, it does not work via normal embed.
  • When you want to know what the learners answered in addition to the score they achieved
  • When you want to know the score for all attempts no matter where you've included H5P within Canvas.
  • Canvas only provides scoring via LTI for assignments. With extra reporting, we provide detailed analytics when H5P content is used in pages, discussions, and modules!
  • When you want to use free text questions that may be graded manually within Interactive Videos

How many learner accounts are needed?

Reports are stored for as many learners as you have in your license. If you have 100 learner accounts in your license we store reports for the first 100 learners that use H5P. Learner #101 will also be able to use the H5P content but we will not store the extra reporting data for this learner.

Learner accounts will by default be automatically archived after 30 days of inactivity, so you'll need accounts for as many learners as you think will be using the H5P content within a 30 day period. We suggest adding extra learners as well in case more learners than expected use the content.
